An amazing construction play through a deep exploration on the form of an airplane that is then projected into a chair which, according to the designer himself, Scott Jarvie, by reflecting a modernity within a skeletal composition, Atlas Chair has perfectly performed a breakthrough in which comfort can be neatly wrapped in futuristic construction.
The Atlas Chair was derived by projecting flat angled planes into volume and using the intersecting elements to generate the profiles that creates the sections of the chair.
The complex geometric surface of the chair was assembled digitally with fragments distinguishing the projection of a plane intersected with a curve-formed spine. As a result, through a simple idea, an innovative chair that is also joggled up with sculptural aspect.
Another extra point for it was the efficiency use of its material, emerging from its individual constructions which were arranged in a line. A refined three dimentional object that takes pride in its purpose, coziness, and efficiency: fascinating!
