Bangles

When I first saw these bracelets, I knew I had to have it – though I’d rather leave it hollow then place it on my wrist. Anthony Roussel has positioned this creation as a ‘sculptural object’ without abandoning it’s function as a wearable jewelry.

Roussel was inspired by the repetitive nature of the coastlines and the earth’s plain surface. The curved lines are created not only as a texture or graphics alone, but as a structure, adding more volume to the bracelet as well as turning it’s layered form into it’s main appeal.

A variaty of wood material is used in making these bracelets, such as birch from Finland, cork  from Portugal, and maple from North America. These materials are then dried naturally using water filtration and finally colored using milk-based paint that’s all-natural and allergy free. Wow!
