To set forth not only of the eco-friendly issue and the reuse of materials, this Clutch Chair tells us about the structural character of a tree: the tiniest capillary vessels of a plant neatly arranged, creating a piece of art.
Produced from ten thousand drinking straws orderly arranged, Scott Jarvie made this Clutch Chair as his exploratory research piece on the capillary vessels of a tree. A modern yet sculptural object that speaks of generation and the synthesis culture, where almost every object is industrially mass produced and disposable.
And out of the same box was Clutch Light, a form of lighting installation with a circular stucture from thousands of drinking straws that offeres a glowing effect, or “jewelesque”, claims Jarvie, which is very unique when turned on.
