Lampad’air

Lampad’air ‘s  unique material and operational system reminds me of my childhood days where I was obsessed with paper lanterns.

“ Lampad’air is a lantern with variable volumes. When it inflates, the multiple facets which constitutes it dissociates and allows a more intense light. An electric air pump equipped with a program allows an autonomous fluctuation of its volume.” Aissalogerot

Lamps with light intencity controllers are common, this product is no exception. It’s the operational system that differs it from any other lamps. The designer, Aissa Logerot, took advantage of the material character in designing this lamp. The user can pump and inflate the lamp according to their need of light capacity.

The gap between the triangles results in releasing small amounts of light, creating dynamic light lines and a soft glow when placed in a room. since Lampad’air is ade out of elastic material, we only need to iflate it to get a more intense light. By pumping it, the triangles will move further apart, thus, releasing more light.
