Yes, this lantern isn’t made from glass, metal, or plastics. Have you ever wanted to capture lights under your skin? Well yes, Ringgit lantern is literary capture lights under skin, unfortunately not your skin, but this made from cow-skin. This project explored dry cow leather as an alternative material, the leather itself usually used for painting media such as on traditional leather puppet. Leather that dried until it becomes somehow translucent.

“Whereas, it has beautiful textured surface which should be exposed more instead of covered”

It has cutout patterns at the surface to let light shine through, while it brings the shape into this unique form. It naturally folded within cutout patterns that based on ‘Tratasan’ motif, which is taken from Indonesia leather puppet.
